[EDIT] This portion of the post was typed out on Sunday or something. Yikes!
Here are some happenings lately. Like I've mentioned, I've been going for kindy training. The kindy (or more like child enrichment centre) that I'll be working in isn't a very typical little school where you talk in front of a class and expect the children to absorb your wisdom (or lack thereof). It's more of like a one-on-one confidence booster. I'm suppose to motivate the kids to solve their own problems and maintain a good mature attitude (mature for their age/level larh).
It's pretty damn interesting how this kindy approaches education. Instead of force feeding someone (like most schools in Malaysia do), you kind of trick them to learning new, valuable things. How? By playing board games. Hahaha. For real! I had to finish over 170++ (I lost count) board games (or how the teachers call it, boxes) just to familiarize myself with whart the students will have to face.
And no joke, it's not like the boxes are very easy. They really make you think! By the time I finished all 170++ boxes, I felt like a sprained my brain. I was so exhausted! It's so tiring to just sit and think for hours gosh!
Well anyway, to further explain whart I mean by enriching the children's problem-solving skills and attitude, I'll provide a simple example. If I were to ask you, "Whart is the definition of MULTIPLICATION?". Could you answer me without Googling it? We all know whart it is, but how do yo define it? Did anyone realize that we were never taught the basics of multiplication? We were just taught to memorize numbers! 2 x 2 = 4. 4 x 3 = 12. 12 x 12 = 144. I still remember because in primary school, we had a multiplication table to memorize. Weird.

But at this kindy, at the age of 3, you get to learn the foundations of everything. So, whart's the definition of MULTIPLICATION? Simple. Constant addition. How is it that we didn't connect the dots before (well I didn't because I ain't that smart)? Eye-opening right? I asked a few of my friends the same question and they were as blank as me. Kinda exposes the loophole in our education system right?
So my job is basically to encourage the kids to persevere, solve their own problems and games and have as much patience as possible for when they decide to misbehave and throw tantrums, and at the same time, they will learn valuable concepts of our education, building their foundation. It sounds easy but no, it's pretty tough. It's all a psychological game! I have to know how to handle each child INDIVIDUALLY, which will be a major challenge that I'm willingly accepting.
God bless me. Lets hope I have the patience for this job.
In other news! My class's exhibition just opened yesterday! It's at the Warehouse Gallery in KL! It's pretty tough to get there, especially if you're a KL n00b like me, but regardless, the cafe art gallery is like freaking pretty with it's exposed bricks and all that. To be perfectly honest, I was against having it in KL at first, only because of the inconvenience of finding parking and distance. But seeing all the wonderful people that went through all the trouble to visit the exhibition yesterday really made me happy! Even my parents and sister came! YAY! Thank you!

[EDIT] AGAIN! Typed this last Sunday. Lazy to change.
Over all, everything went well. We had a great set of people helping out with setting up, contributing their work and all. The exhibition looked great! Didn't expect it to turn out so beautiful! I was especially happy with the crowd during the opening ceremony/first day of the exhibition. Seksan came by too! Erhmahgerd fan girl mode much! He's such a humble and considerate man, seriously. Didn't really think he would attend! He even arrive on his bicycle! Hahaha. Eco-friendly hippie architect! Admire him sooo much!
Anyway, great job to everyone, especially Debbie, who went through a lot of stress I bet! It was difficult getting people to cooperate but at the very last minute, many generous people provided help. Thankfully! GREAT JOB! And thanks to everyone who went to visit! The exhibition will be open til Wednesday (Monday closed) so feel free to take a look! Have some coffee and food while you're at it. The cafe and restaurant has pretty good refreshments and makananz!
Go ahead and check out the official FB page too! :)

I'm getting old! I forgot to update about a recent mural painting project I did with a few friends. Nikki approached me like a couple of weeks ago for help for this mural painting charity project thinggy for the Spastic Children's Association in PJ. So I gathered a few of my friends, and so did Nikki and her sisters, and we worked together to paint an insanely long wall (I think like 8.5 m x 3.5 m?) in one of the hallways in the school. I did a very simple design and then everyone else worked as a team to finish it within one day! It was pretty awesome how fast we completed it. Super happy with the results too! Haha. The mural turned out beautiful and seriously COLOURFUL! I didn't expect it to be so filled with colour but it turned out really gorgeous and it kinda lights up the space really well.
I really wanna thank Nikki and her sister for asking me to join them in this charity project because it was a really fun project and I'm happy that I got to contribute as much as my abilities permits. I hope that there will be more cheerful paintings in those hall ways in the future! The walls are pretty empty! So much potential to brighten the area up. Btw, thanks to mah college mates for helping meh, Nikki and Nikki's sister out with the mural painting. Couldn't have done it without you maniacs! ♡♡♡
Oh and I got approached by a few other people about murals! I feel very blessed to have these opportunities! :D I hope I can do my best to produce good work for you!

A few days back, my college mates, Qis and I went to Sekeping Serendah for a short retreat. You should've seen how excited everyone got when we arrived at Warehouse 2. Everyone was like jumping and running around everywhere (especially Simba). It's super gorgeous man! Actually can't believe how pretty it is in real life. And you could easily make yourself at home.
We didn't have internet nor a television so activities included being stupid, BBQ-ing, playing Monopoly Deal, being stupid some more, eating, talking about random shit like how to curl hair and K-Pop stuff, Monopoly Deal, and more stupid things. We also went swimming! It was really refreshing. :D Anything else that happened in Sekeping Serendah, stays there. :X Teehee.
Here is a massive panoramic view of the Warehouse. GOHJES KANZ?!
I'd tap that ... BADUMTSS.
Sah pretty. THOSE BRICKS. ♡♡♡

This is whart you get when you rent the place for the night. A beautifoor maid to clean your dishes.
Here she is again, posing with the Warehouse. (Look at the monkeys upstairs hahahaha).
