I spent the whole weekend (19th - 21st of May) in KL with Qissu, along side friends, acquaintances, Qissu's lovely mother and jazz artists of all kinds of diversity and talent! Qissu's mother organized a huge event called the Kuala Lumpur International Jazz Festival (Click here to see whart you missed haha http://www.klinternationaljazz.com/) and I was given the opportunity to attend because I am, and I quote Qissu's mother, "like her other daughter", except, not really. Mostly because I'm Qis's bffbbfb haha.
Honestly, I have never known how to appreciate music like jazz. It's so rebellious and it's only for a certain type of community; obviously not my cup of tea, since I'm so POP or
"MAINSTREAM", as the general stereotypical public has labelled it. The only instrumental music I listen to are the occasional Japanese compositions from Studio Ghibli movies or tracks from How to Train Your Dragon (there are more but I just don't remember haha). But after attending this festival, I can understand why people love jazz.

I wasn't interested in a few of the performers, though I appreciate their talent and their efforts. They did work very hard to get as well recognized as they are nao. But I judged the artists based on how well they can keep me awake. HAHA! I know, horrible. But only a few were awesome enough to have kept me interested. One of my favourites was Everette Harp, a saxophonist with too much swag when he performs. He's extremely fun to watch because he himself was having so much fun on stage. Dancing and joking around. It was great!
Another favourite was Hiromi Uehara and the Trio Project. The best thing about these 3 performers were their facial expressions! SO MUCH EXPRESSION! It was exciting! You could tell how much they loved their music and performing! Hiromi is one talented Japanese woman man. And bite-sized too! She reminded me so much of Nodame from Nodame Cantabile. The only difference is, she actually existed. She WAS Nodame!
Ahmad Jamal, Eernie Watts, Meg Okura, Incognito and many others also graced Kuala Lumpur with their presence! Performed superbly too (though I may have fallen asleep during a few shows because I was too tired hahaha).
All in all, I had a great time, despite lacking of sleep and feeling frustrated about not having my car with me. Hahaha! Thanks to Qissu and mama Qissu for the opportunity! I'm glad I could help with photographing the event.

Toilet shot day 1.

Look at Qissu, awkwardly presenting her banner to the camera. Hahaha!
Afdlin Shauki was there too! This was us being shy shy. Rakesh had to help us ask him for a photo LOL. My hair began to frizz because it was raining outside and we went to KLCC via the park. Damn you humidity! GRR.
Here is Everette Harp with his swag on.
Here we are, with gummy fangs for teeth.
Hiromi Uehara's facial expression during her performance was like this 90% of the time.
Toilet shot day 2.

Wednesday and Thursday were spent playing with my archi-gang of lame people. We went for a night's trip to Malacca for Yvo's super belated birthday celebration! We headed to town for some good ol' baba nyonya laksa and cendol, followed by a trip to a humble coconut shake shop! I'm not a fan of coconuts but the shake was pretty good. No wonder it's so famous!

Jojo, Simba and I, trynna be as awesome as Mr. Universe (or whatever that statue is).

Having our coconut shakes ~

Grocery shopping. Bwahaha!
We then headed to the A'Famosa Resort, in which surprised Yvo to da max because she didn't expect us to bring her to a villa for her birthday. Haha! She said she thought it was gonna be one of our normal Malacca trips. YOU'VE JUST BEEN LOKI'D.
Anyway, our villa was pretty awesome. It fits 12 people but there were like 10 of us so YAY! More room! Haha. So upon arrival, we all had this plan of throwing Yvo into the pool (because it was in Lily's new year's resolution LOL). It was so shocking cause Simba and Lily went into the house first whilst we all stood outside, admiring our villa. Out of no where, they started screaming like they saw ghosts (and for a second there, I really thought they did). But alas, it was only a decoy to distract Yvo from running away and allowing us to gracefully throw her into the pool. Haha! We pushed her in another 2 times afterwards then jumped in ourselves.

This is whart happened when we got to the villa.

Dunno whart we're doing but okay.
I haven't had that much fun swimming in like forever. We played soooooooo much! It was like we were little kids again! ^_^ We played Captains Ball (in which the losers would be punished with *starts belting out LMFAO's "shots") and then everyone started trying to do some jumps and dives. Haha! We laughed so hard and under water too. It would only result to starvation.

Look at Teck Hong. Torpedo much?!
We then had our dinner in which consisted of random food items such as bread, sardines, tuna, lettuce, tomatoes, coriander, thousand island sauce (that Teck Hong raped and cause him to suffer from diarrhea) and all kinds of non-proper dinner foods. We had nice desserts after (followed by some dancing, puking, passing out, extreme redness of bodies and sleep).

After KO-ing for like the whole night, we chilled for a bit and went cycling under the sun (for whart reason, I don't know). Then searched for food, some other random stuff and headed back.

Morning swim. I didn't bother swimming cause I was too lazy and had to drive later. Haha.
Apollo cake! LOL.

Our villa! So grand looking.
Last photo with the villa.
Before heading off, we cycled around the place for a bit (under the afternoon sun. DON'T KNOW WHY).
IT WAS SUCH A GOOD TRIP. Ahhhhh ~ So ber-chilling. I loved it. :)
