Life hasn't been as eventful as I wish it would be. Waiting to leave this country can be a very boring task. I have another 2 months 'til a new adventure unfolds but for nao, I'm here, in front of my laptop, watching Korean variety shows. Normal days revolve around food and coffee with Jas. Just check my Instagram. About 75% of the photos are of coffee! Haha.
We did recently go to Penang with mama&papa Tham and Daniel, but we didn't do much. Mostly slept (since Jas was on her period and I was about to be on mine). Freaking laziest week of the year! Haha. We did, however, manage to walk around Penang just a lil' bit (not as much walking as I've done in the last few visits to Penang, which was a different change of pace) but yeah, it was aight.
Here's where we stayed! G Hotel! Not too shabby eyh? We were greeted with ice cream too. So nice of them. First time staying in a hotel in Penang!
Here's just a peak at some of the food I ate during the trip. On the top left is food from Gurney Drive - the normal sting ray, snail and assam laksa. Top right was from the breakfast buffet! Bottom left is butter crab from Bali Hai. There was also lobster and all but was too hungry to snap a photo (oopzzz). Bottom right is food from China House! OM NOMZ RIGHT?
Brought Jas to China House. That day was not the best day at CH, firstly, cause the freak storm in Penang totally destroyed the courtyard. :( So sad. Secondly, the waitress DID NOT pack our left over pies even though I told her to, and then she put them in the kitchen where I assume they disappeared into the bin (SAD AGAIN). Thirdly, Jas was too blind to see the different levels of the floor, tripped and twisted her ankle. Haha! Clumsy woman.
Some artwork that were being showcased upstairs in the art gallery. I like this one cause the artist painted on puzzles. Simple and nice.
Crossed the road to Sekeping Victoria to see this sculptures made of every day items.
Can you believe that these pieces are being sold for over RM1k? WHART? Some reaching RM2k! I was like HUH? I don't know how to feel about it. Though it's art, the material used is so cheap! Can beli from kedai runcit near my house. And being sold for that much? I guess you're buying the idea instead of the sculpture itself.
This is the giant cat I insisted on seeing while in Penang. It's so big. How to resist? Whoever the artist is, I love you for loving cats and for immortalizing them everywhere in Penang.
LOOK AT THIS ONE? HOW LARH?! SO KIUT.
Me and Jas, trynna be all swag ... #not.
While trying to look for the last mural, stumbled upon this. Haha! So random! The wall belongs to the BOMBA, which makes it even funnier to me.
After a while, we found the Bruce Lee mural! SO CUTE RIGHT. Random like shit, but cute nonetheless. I don't really understand the relationship between Penang and Bruce Lee but ... whatever.
Papa Tham : "WHY YOU KICK THE CAT?!".

I think it's horrible that I'm not in Penang for the entire month! I'm missing out on some awesome exhibits, workshops and shows! The next time I'm back from the UK, I'll live there during the Georgetown Festival! Meet new people and learn new things! Haha. I wish I was there nao, relaxing and eating everything. Boo.

July will be more interesting since I'll be heading to South Korea (WOOHOO). Jas and I didn't get to go to Singapore to splurge on goodies (I'm still pretty sad about it), so all our efforts to shop til we drop will be put on hold 'til we reach South Korean ground. I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT! It's summer there too! I'm sure the weather will be wonderful! I don't know about clothes, but I'll be sure to bring back home truckloads of beauty products. Etude House, Nature Republic, Face Shop ... NEED I GO ON? I've done some research as to whart other local brands we should check out (ones not found overseas I mean) and will definitely splurge on those!
I believe that the higher-ups isn't allowing us asthmatically weak females to step into a haze-filled country with readings of PSI 401. Instead, He says to shop like crazy in S. Korea. That is a better option, and I agree (it's just an excuse, really but whatever).

Ramadhan is right after I get back from S. Korea. Then after that, I'll soon be leaving for Scotland! This year is great, really. Haha! Can't wait! I'm super excited!
