Life is like a lime, oooh It's tart and tangy

Since the fat hubby is out enjoying pizza and Edward Norton, I shall blorg for the sake of people who read blorgs.

So I woke up early (0836am) today (a Friday ugh) because a bunch of us had a site visit to attend! We went to Light Craft, which is literally whart the name of the place is, a lamp shop. LOL. First things first, we didn't go window shopping for lamps or anything, we actually learned about how to use lights in Architecture. BE AMAZED. And this store displays many lamps by an Italian company/brand called Artemide, which is apparently, according to our tour guide, "... the Prada of all LIGHTS!" Har har much.

Before we went, our lecturer clearly said, with emphasis, "DO NOT BREAK ANYTHING OR YOU WILL PAY!" (With cash) For real man! There's a whole floor dedicated to handmade (glass-blown) lamps from Italy that can cost up to a minimum of RM20k per piece! Can buy Kancil! :O I was extra careful of course, being naturally clumsy in every way and all. I was alert at all times! 8|

So we learned about the differences between decorative lights and lights that serve a purpose, colours, types of bulbs, name of lamps blar blar! All kinds of stuff! It's really astonishing how the sales people knew so much about something as simple and common as lights! I bet you, they would've talked for hours if it weren't for our schedule. It was a productive visit! We, as students, gained A LOT from it!

Did you know that metal halide bulbs are very expensive (it's smaller than your palm but costs about RM180?) but are the most commonly used bulbs (Stadium lights!) because it's bright enough to light up a huge room and at the same time doesn't use much energy and is extremely efficient and eco-friendly? DID YOU?

And did you know that LEDs are the lights of the future because it saves energy and it's life span can last up to 35 years if used for up to 8 hours of every day? DID YOU?!

I know you didn't.

Teehee.

Yar it was fun! :D I feel cleverer. Not many people know about lights. I sure as hell didn't. How to position them, how to combine many different types of lights to create a majestic or romantic ambiance in a space, how to use down lights to show off texture and the facade of a building. Like whoah man.

The only disappointment was that I didn't get to take the normal 300+ photos that I normally take during a site visit. And it's heart breaking, knowing that there are tons of lights I could take photos of! The decorative lights are the most gorgeous of course. I couldn't photograph them though cause the woman kept saying "We're running out of time, lets move on to the next room LETS GOO!" Sigh. Oh well.

I love Architorture, but I'm tired. Really REALLY tired. This course is sucking the energy out of me (not to mention my money). Never have I ever been this hardworking when it came to studies. I feel the change, the self improvement! *jiwang*

I shall post up photos here (AND FB AHEM TO MY FNBE MATES AHEM) later on when I'm not so lazy and tired and hungry. (:

Oh Angels and Demons is a good movie. But you gotta watch it when you're alert. A lot of brain power is needed to understand whart's going on. Listening to the conversations between Tom Hanks and the Italians takes a lot of effort too! If you're slow, stoned or sleepy, I recommend you watch something lighter, that doesn't require much focus. Something like the Hannah Montana Movie. *thumbs up*

P.S. Sayang, I wanna abuse you again. Lemme punch you please <3
